Black-bellied Hummingbirds 3924B

The tiny Black-bellied Hummingbirds (Eupherusa nigriventris) are only found in moist forest edges at middle elevations on the Caribbean slope in Costa Rica and western Panama, making Costa Rica the best place in the world to see them. The male has a black face and a black velvet belly. He has rufous secondary feathers on the wings. The female has a whitish underside.They both have short straight bills.
