Citrine Forktail Damsel

The tiny (about an inch long) male Citrine Forktail Damselfly (Ischnura hastata) can be distinguished by its yellow tail , green eyes and blue eyespot. They are slow fliers and perch low on vegetation near the water's edge. Young adult females are orange. As they age, their color changes to brown or olive and later still, to grey.
